Ek Ardass Seva Society Organizes Drug De-Addiction Awareness Campaign in Pathankot

Students Educated About the Harmful Effects of Drugs and Encouraged to Lead a Drug-Free Life

Pathankot, July 24, 2026:
Ek Ardass Seva Society, dedicated to social welfare and community service, organized a Drug De-Addiction Awareness Campaign at Vidya Mandir Public Senior Secondary School, Shivaji Nagar, Pathankot, with the aim of creating awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraging them to stay away from addiction.

The awareness programme focused on educating young students about the serious physical, mental, social and family-related consequences of drug addiction. The students were encouraged to make positive choices, develop strong moral values and adopt a healthy and responsible lifestyle.

Motivational Address by Karanvir Singh Bassi

Katha Vachak and Motivational Speaker Karanvir Singh Bassi attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Through his inspiring address, he spoke to the students about the devastating impact of drug abuse and shared real-life examples to help them understand how addiction can destroy an individual's health, education, career and family life.

A 10-minute motivational video based on the consequences of drug abuse was also shown to the students during the programme. The video highlighted real-life situations and helped students understand the dangers associated with substance abuse.

“If Someone Offers You Drugs, Tell Your Parents or Teachers”

The students were given an important message that if anyone tries to introduce them to drugs or encourages them to consume any intoxicating substance, they should not remain silent. They were encouraged to immediately inform their parents, teachers or another trusted person.

Awareness material and magazines were also distributed among the students, providing information about the harmful effects of drugs and ways to stay away from addiction.

A Commitment Towards a Drug-Free Punjab and India

At the conclusion of the programme, students pledged to contribute towards building a Drug-Free Punjab and Drug-Free India. The school management appreciated the efforts of Ek Ardass Seva Society in spreading awareness among young people and taking meaningful steps towards creating a healthier and safer society.

The programme was attended by Nitin Sharma, President, Ek Ardass Seva Society; Deepak Jain, Secretary; Preet Kaur; Jagjit Singh; Rohit Rai; Sukhdev Singh; Kamlesh Chand Sharma; Divya Dogra, along with other members, guests and school representatives.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to the guests, school management, teachers, students and all those who contributed to the successful organization of the awareness campaign.
